5-Star Hotel Stay - Maldron Hotel in Parnell Square

For our first stay in Dublin, we stayed in the Maldron Hotel in Parnell Square. I think that this hotel was an excellent first stay. We booked the hotel for two nights. The staff contacted me before our arrival and offered to provide a birthday special for my boyfriend since we’re staying there through his birthday. The special included a box of chocolates, ballons, a “happy birthday” sign, and a chocolate cake.

We loved our stay! The hotel is 18 minutes from the airport and located on the other side of O'Connell Bridge. I’d say that it’s on the less-touristy side (think Brooklyn compared to Times Square). I say that lovingly. Our double room was equipped with an iron and ironing board, tea, coffee, water, towels, and a coffee maker. The bathroom was also equipped with a shower (without a door, which I think is a European thing because every bathroom had this). The hotel is beautifully designed. Very clean and the staff is very accommodating.

I booked our stay through Expedia which included breakfast, high-speed internet, and dinner. We missed our dinner reservations both nights because we were super enamored with the nightlife, but we made time for breakfast every morning during our stay. The breakfast was delicious. The buffet included variations of coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, yogurt, eggs, ham, and fruit. The traditional Irish breakfast was the centerpiece with black pudding front and center, but there were also different kinds of toasts. I thoroughly enjoyed the ham, eggs, potatoes, and yogurt.

Location-wise, the hotel is about 15 minutes away from Temple Bar and other attractions like Dublin Castle, Ha’Penny Bridge, and several shopping centers. Another plus about our stay is that it was about 10 minutes away from the nearest parking garage which we were also given a discount upon leaving. Parking can be as much as €40 for two days, so it was great that we had a complimentary discount. Just don’t lose your parking ticket!

Maldron Hotel in Parnell Square is an amazing stay that I would highly recommend. In total, our stay cost €234.60 and it was worth every penny.
