What I’m Packing for Tybee (During COVID)

I’ve been looking forward to my next girls’ trip since the last girls’ trip and so much has happened to us in the past couple of months that we haven’t been able to reconnect and COVID-19 has not made getting together any easier.

Nevertheless, we were determined to spend time together and this weekend, we’ll be spending our trip on Tybee Island. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Y’all shouldn’t be traveling with all that’s going on.” Trust me, my friends and I are taking all the necessary precautions. We’re basically getting away only to stay mostly indoors and enjoying each other’s company. Here are some things that I’m taking with me for the trip.

1. HAND SANITIZER

A staple and must-have item during these unprecedented times. I have several mini hand sanitizers as well as a huge bottle for the house and cleaning supplies. My friends are bringing cleaning supplies and disinfectant sprays too

2. FACE MASKS

Another necessity in these trying times! Not only will I have disposable face masks in my car, but I always carry one or two in my purse in case I forget to grab one out of my car.

3. SILK KIMONO

We’re planning a few quiet evenings; one will include a spa night. So, we’re going to get comfy in our silk PJs, slip on our robes, have a glass of wine (or two) and have girl-time.

4. SONY CAMERA

Of course, I’m bringing my camera to document our time together and share what Tybee has to offer with my followers. I’m getting back in the habit of using my Sony for vlogging, since I spent all summer vlogging from my phone

5. YELLOW SWIMSUIT(S)

This year we decided to wear yellow swimsuits. My swimsuits are from Icon Swim. I think I got them on sale for $20 each. It’ll be a great photoshoot of this shade of color on different skin tones. It’s going to be beautiful!

6. GUCCI MARMONT BELT

I’m usually not into trendy items, but I’d been looking at the Gucci Marmon Belt for some time and never pushed myself to buy. Say what you want about luxury items, but it’s definitely a staple item that I can’t wait to wear out and take photos

7. WORKOUT CLOTHES

Since most of our time will be spent in the house, we decided to spend a morning or two doing workouts so I packed for anything the girls would throw at me. My best friends have been active ever since high school. I just started taking it seriously this year (I hope I can keep up).

8. STRIPED ROMPER

Just in case we decide to have lunch in a picturesque location, I have the perfect romper to match.

9. SMART CHARGER

I didn’t realize how much of a necessity this item is until I found myself riding in the backseat of a car without a charging port that fits an iPhone 11 Pro Max. My charging case was a gift that my mother purchased from Amazon.

10. SMALL WALLET

I just grabbed my small Coach wallet. I’ll probably switch it to something smaller as I’ll need a wallet small enough to fit in my bag and my pocket (if I decide not to bring my bag.
